Description

C-19606

c. late 19th to early 20th century Group of three utilitarian brown-glazed stoneware vessels including a squat ovoid jar with narrow collar, a cylindrical crock with rolled rim, and a tall bottle-form vessel with tapered neck. All three display a rich, dark Albany-style slip glaze with subtle tonal variation and kiln character throughout. The forms reflect common storage and workshop use, with thick-walled construction and simple, purpose-driven profiles. Bases show typical wheel-thrown finishing marks.

General surface wear consistent with age and use across all three pieces. The central crock exhibits notable rim chipping and loss, as shown. The left jar has surface discoloration and staining to one side. The tall bottle shows light scuffing and minor glaze wear. No major structural cracks observed, but overall condition reflects honest utilitarian wear.
