General Antiques and Collectibles Spring Auction
Lot 55:
Description
C-15519
This assorted vintage kitchenware lot includes two small handled aluminum saucepans with black Bakelite-style grips, a square metal hamburger press, and a pair of lightweight aluminum tube-style cake or gelatin molds. Simple, utilitarian, and built for daily use, each piece carries the hallmarks of midcentury American cookware, when aluminum was widely embraced for its lightweight and affordability. These types of pieces were commonly produced from the 1940s through the 1960s by companies like Wear-Ever, Mirro, and Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. (predecessor to Mirro), and were marketed for their durability and ease of use in busy home kitchens.
General wear, scuffing, and light pitting across surfaces. Handles secure with mild oxidation at rivet points. The small lid or press shows typical signs of use and patina.
Largest approx.: 5" Dia.
