This vintage "Knob Lok Jr." unit features a brass-plated combination doorknob and integrated lock mechanism, housed with its original two-tone red and black retail box. Marketed as a DIY solution, the packaging proudly declares: "No Carpenter or Mechanic Needed!"-a nod to mid century America’s growing appetite for accessible home improvement hardware. Manufactured circa 1950s-1960s, products like the Knob Lok Jr. were part of a wave of postwar security and utility hardware aimed at homeowners eager to take on basic installations themselves. These pre-assembled locksets were often sold through hardware stores and mail-order catalogs.
Brass plating shows scattered surface wear and some oxidation. Box is intact with corner wear and edge tearing but retains bold graphics and clear text.
