Lot 50:
Description
C-20067
Domed leaded slag glass hanging lamp featuring a repeating grapevine motif with green leaves and clustered fruit in deep blue and dark amber tones. The shade is constructed from marbled caramel and cream slag glass panels, segmented by heavy lead came and supported by a patinated metal framework. The lower skirt carries a continuous band of stylized grapes and foliage, while the upper section transitions into a flared, petal-form crown that surrounds the fitter. The glass shows strong swirling and opacity variation throughout, giving the piece a warm, diffuse glow when lit. Interior retains a single socket with pull chain, suspended from a linked metal chain.
Shows visible cracking to several slag glass panels, including a more pronounced crack at the upper dome. One lower grape cluster area has loss and damage to glass and leading as shown. General surface wear, oxidation to metal framework, and age-appropriate patina throughout. Wiring works.
