Lot 46:
Description
C-15510
This original felt pennant commemorates the 1912 New York State Firemen’s Convention held in Newburgh, NY. The vivid orange banner features white printed text and a graphic of a horse-drawn fire engine with firemen in action, a classic early 20th-century firefighting motif. Two original knotted corner ties remain attached. These types of souvenir pennants were commonly sold or given to attendees at parades, sporting events, and civic conventions. This example is a rare survivor from the pre-WWI era, celebrating the camaraderie and tradition of volunteer firefighting in New York State.
Felt shows light surface soiling and minor edge curling. Print remains sharp and fully legible. Ties show wear but remain intact.
