This original blue felt pennant commemorates a 1938 visit to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Yellow appliqué felt blocks spell out the year "1938," and a white printed graphic at the left features the Eternal Light Peace Memorial-dedicated that same year during the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. The design is completed with "Gettysburg PA." in bold script and matching yellow ties and fringe. The 1938 reunion was a landmark moment in American history, attended by more than 1,800 Civil War veterans and marked by a message of national reconciliation.
Light creasing and minor fading. Felt remains supple; ties are intact and well preserved.
