c. 1950s; Revere Camera Company – Chicago, Illinois This compact vintage movie camera was manufactured by the Revere Camera Company of Chicago during the 1950s, a period when amateur home moviemaking became increasingly popular in America. The textured metal body bears an exposure guide on the front panel, detailing aperture recommendations for various lighting conditions. It features a side-mounted lens housing and original controls, designed to provide reliable 8mm filming in a portable format.
The set includes the camera and its original brown leather carrying case, which features a metal clasp and stitched construction. The case shows surface wear and scuffing appropriate to age and use, while the camera body retains its original finish with light handling wear.
