Lot 204:
Description
C-17884
c. 1970s; Ohio Art Co. – Bryan, OH Brightly lithographed tin toy pail featuring the nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty. The design wraps around the pail, showing Humpty perched atop the wall, tumbling down, and surrounded by knights in armor attempting to "put him together again." Vivid colors in red, yellow, green, and blue make the imagery highly eye-catching, with a green-painted metal handle completing the piece. Produced by the Ohio Art Company, a longtime American toy and tin lithography manufacturer best known for creating the Etch A Sketch in 1960 and an extensive line of printed sand pails, tea sets, and playthings throughout the 20th century. This pail captures their signature mix of durable tin construction and bold graphic design.
Shows minor surface scratches, small dings, and light edge wear consistent with use. Retains excellent gloss and strong litho color throughout.
