c. 1930s; Taplin Manufacturing Co. – New Britain, CT Small hand-crank egg beater with a cast metal gear housing, wire-loop beaters, and a red painted knob handle. At just 5.5" long, this piece represents a scaled-down version of a common kitchen implement, rendered with functional detail. Its compact size suggests it may have been intended as a toy, novelty, or promotional piece. Betty Taplin produced a range of domestic novelty items and miniature kitchen tools during the mid-20th century, capitalizing on the popularity of home-themed collectibles.
