c. 1920s-1930s; Congress Cigar Company – Philadelphia, PA Round tobacco tin with domed lid embossed "mild / LA PALINA / SENATORS / made good". The body retains traces of its original finish, showing surface wear and age toning throughout. The snug-fitting lid emphasizes embossed lettering, a hallmark of early 20th-century advertising tins where tactile branding reinforced product recognition. Originally sold as a container for La Palina "Senators" cigars, this tin served both as packaging and as a reusable household storage vessel once emptied. La Palina was introduced in the late 19th century by the Congress Cigar Company, founded by Samuel Paley. The brand was later revived in the 21st century by his grandson, William Paley, keeping its legacy alive as a symbol of American cigar culture.
Shows expected wear and surface oxidation consistent with age; lid remains functional and fully legible.
