General Antiques and Collectibles Spring Auction
Lot 121:
Description
C-15817
This unmarked wind-up tin locomotive features a red body with a blue underframe and silver trim, styled after early 20th-century steam engines. The piece has lithographed rivet details, two large drive wheels connected by a metal side rod, and a front coupler for attachment to cars. Likely manufactured in the mid-20th century by a Japanese or American toy maker, this compact wind-up train was intended for use on small-gauge tin track.
Surface wear and paint loss throughout; mild oxidation present on wheels and metal components. Wind-up mechanism untested. Appears to be missing small pieces of hardware.
