Lot 451:
Description
C-19536
Collection of nine assorted mid-century American road maps and travel guides produced by a variety of publishers and oil companies during the height of automobile tourism. Examples in the group include Iowa Official State Transportation Map, South Dakota “Highways to Adventure” (Official State Highway Map), Arkansas State Highway Map, Washington Highways, and a Wisconsin Phillips 66 highway map featuring the classic orange shield logo and “Stop at the sign of Quality Products” slogan. The lot also includes a Grand Canyon National Park guide (1916–1966 anniversary edition), a Rand McNally United States map, a Rand McNally Indiana map, and a Smith Oil Gulf-branded regional travel guide titled “Little Norway, The Dells, Mississippi Highlands, Starved Rock.”
Shows moderate age-related wear including fold lines, corner wear, and light toning throughout. Some maps exhibit creasing and small edge wear consistent with use as travel guides.
