Grouping of four classic American tobacco tins including a flat rectangular Lucky Strike “It’s Toasted” Cigarettes – flat fifties tin, a green and cream Half and Half Burley and Bright Tobacco can reading “A Cargo of Contentment in the Bowl of a Pipe, ” a blue Edgeworth Extra High Grade Ready-Rubbed tin by Larus & Brother Co., Richmond, Va., and a smaller green tobacco tin marked for pipe and cigarette use. The Lucky Strike example features the iconic red bullseye logo centered on a field of olive green with script “flat fifties” lettering, designed for pocket carry. The Half and Half tin retains strong diagonal graphics, while the Edgeworth tin displays ornate embossed-style lithography in blue with detailed scrollwork.
All pieces show age-related wear including surface scratches, edge wear, oxidation, and scattered rust spotting. Lucky Strike tin shows finish loss and surface corrosion to lid and underside; smaller green tobacco tin exhibits heavier rust and paint loss; Half and Half and Edgeworth retain strong graphics with typical handling wear.
