c. late 19th-early 20th century; European Manufacture A grouping of two molded stoneware pitchers with distinct decorative motifs: • Beige Pitcher: Relief-molded figural tavern scene with musicians and drinkers in high detail, finished in a two-tone cream and caramel glaze. Broad rim and rounded body. (6" dia. x 9.5" H) • Brown Pitcher: Rich brown glaze with relief-molded grapevine and leaf motif, accented by a zig-zag border at the rim. Cylindrical form with rounded handle. Displays a visible hairline crack at the base. Both pieces represent popular styles of late 19th- to early 20th-century molded stoneware, commonly used for beer or cider service in domestic and tavern settings. The figural and grapevine motifs were staples of German and English potteries, reflecting both decorative and utilitarian traditions.
Beige pitcher shows minor surface wear with good overall integrity. Brown pitcher has a hairline crack at the base with glaze wear consistent with age.
