Description

C-19118

Group of four framed architectural street-scenes depicting small-town American buildings rendered in a crisp mid-century illustrative style. Each acrylic on board composition captures a distinct vernacular structure: a corner drugstore with early automobile and storefront figures; a church with tall steeple and autumnal trees; a modest roadside shop with bench and bicycle; and a railroad-side commercial building with crossing sign and dormered roofline. All are signed “Mark Coomer” in the lower margin. Attached to the backs of the pieces in this suite are the original printed artist information sheets describing Coomer as born in Bay City, Michigan in 1914, noting exhibition history at the American Water Color Society, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Chicago Tribune & Holiday features.

Frames show light surface wear including minor scuffs and edge rubbing. Mats exhibit mild toning consistent with age. The informational sheet shows overall age toning, edge wear, and surface creasing. Prints appear clean with no major tears or visible losses observed.
