c. early/mid 20th century; WM Rogers and Rochester Silverplate serving group including two WM Rogers round handled trays and a Rochester silverplate coffee pot with black handle and finial accents. The trays feature engraved floral and scrollwork decoration with rope-form borders, while the coffee pot carries a restrained utilitarian form suited to hotel or restaurant service. Silverplate serving wares of this type were commonly used in dining rooms, banquet service, and hospitality settings throughout the early to mid-20th century.
Trays marked WM Rogers to undersides. Coffee pot marked “Rochester” to underside. Tarnish, oxidation, plate wear, surface scratches, discoloration, and spotting present throughout. Areas of heavier oxidation and verdigris visible to one tray face. Coffee pot exhibits finish wear and age-related use throughout.
