Description
C-19838
c. 1930s–1950s; maker unknown – USA Wood and metal runner sled featuring a slatted wooden deck mounted to a red painted steel frame with curved runners and a front steering handle assembly. The pivoting front crossbar and linkage allow directional control, while the bent steel runners provide glide over snow surfaces. Faint, worn lettering is present to the top slat but is not fully legible. Construction reflects mid-20th century recreational sled design, combining hardwood components with formed steel hardware.
Shows moderate to heavy wear consistent with age and use, including surface rust and paint loss to the metal frame, oxidation to runners, and significant wear, scuffing, and finish loss to the wood slats. Lettering is faded and partially illegible. Structurally intact with expected play wear from use.
