Lot 97:
Antique Stained Glass Floral Architectural Window
Description
C-21641
Decorative stained glass architectural window featuring a geometric border surrounding a stylized floral motif executed in blue, green, amber, pale blue, and textured clear glass. The leaded panel is set within its original wooden sash, retaining multiple generations of painted finish, including remnants of an earlier red interior border and later white paint to the reverse. The floral design reflects the simplified geometric influence of the Arts & Crafts and Prairie School periods, making the panel suitable for display in a window opening or as wall-mounted architectural décor. Original hanging rings remain mounted at the upper corners.
Shows moderate to heavy age-related wear consistent with architectural use. Wooden sash exhibits extensive paint loss, flaking, surface scratches, scattered abrasions, and accumulated grime throughout. Frame displays age-related shrinkage with visible separations and cracking, including a repaired split along the upper rail. Lead cames exhibit expected oxidation and age-related patina. Glass panels remain intact with no cracked or missing sections observed. Hanging rings remain present and secure.
