Description

Pair of pressed and cut glass candlestick lamps converted from Early American-style candlesticks for electric use. Each features a stepped circular base, faceted and hobnail-decorated stem, and brass-tone Leviton socket, combining traditional glass tableware forms with early residential electric lighting. Converted glass candlesticks such as these became popular decorative accent lamps during the first half of the 20th century, allowing earlier glass forms to be adapted for modern household use.

Both lamps have been professionally rewired and tested in our shop and are in working condition. One glass candlestick stem is noticeably bowed, likely from manufacture or age, but remains stable. Glass bodies are free of observed cracks or major chips. Brass-tone Leviton sockets exhibit oxidation, finish wear, and age-related discoloration. General light scratches and handling wear are present throughout consistent with age. Bulbs are not included.
