Military-style aluminum canteen dating from the World War I through World War II era. Constructed with a heavy welded side seam and retaining its original vertically ribbed screw cap secured by a metal chain, the canteen reflects early twentieth-century manufacturing methods before seamless aluminum production became commonplace. The original fabric or leather insulating cover is no longer present, leaving the bare aluminum body exposed.
Shows moderate age-related wear including scattered scratches, scuffs, minor dents, oxidation, and handling wear throughout the aluminum body. Welded side seam remains intact. Original ribbed screw cap and retaining chain are present. Fabric or leather outer cover is missing. Cap could not be removed, therefore testing for functionality and leaks could not be performed.
