Framed oil on canvas depicting a historic European hillside city with clustered white and ochre buildings, church towers, and Gothic-inspired architecture overlooking a river. Executed in a heavily textured impasto technique using palette knife and brushwork to create pronounced surface relief. Signed “Alonso” in the lower right. The architecture suggests a historic Spanish city such as Toledo or Cuenca, though the specific location has not been identified.
Painting exhibits scattered craquelure and minor paint lifting in several areas. The canvas has pulled slightly from the fold at the lower left corner where it wraps around the stretcher.
