Lot 50:
Description
C-21761
Framed reproduction of The Reverend Robert Walker Skating on Duddingston Loch, commonly known as The Skating Minister. The print features a textured linen laminating film to simulate the appearance of canvas and depicts the celebrated image traditionally attributed to Scottish portraitist Sir Henry Raeburn, though some modern scholarship has suggested Henri-Pierre Danloux. A Sullins House label on the reverse identifies the reproduction as a U.S.-made product, circa 1980s – 2000s. Handwritten notations on the backing read “The Rev. Robert Walker” and “Bought 2010.”
Frame exhibits light surface scratches and finish wear. Backing paper has several tears near the hanging wire. Condition of the print has not been examined outside the frame.
