Lithographed metal advertising tin for Tiger Dark Sweet Chewing Tobacco, produced by the P. Lorillard Company of Jersey City, New Jersey. This blue variant advertises the Dark Sweet blend and features a faux basketweave pattern with tiger head graphics on multiple sides and a product illustration on the lid. The rectangular tin retains its hinged lid and dual folding metal swing handles, allowing it to function as a reusable pail or lunch box. Produced during the early to mid-20th century for use as a general store tobacco container.
Exhibits wear consistent with age and use. Scattered paint loss, scratches, abrasions, and oxidation are present throughout. Interior exhibits heavy oxidation. Two small breaks are present adjacent to the rear hinges. Lid is bent and hinged lid opens and closes properly, and both swing handles remain functional. Graphics remain legible despite surface wear.
