c. 1940s; Paragon C. & C. Co., Inc. – New York
Industrial steel "Tray-Drawer Cabinet" finished in factory olive green enamel with six narrow drawers, each fitted with a brass-toned pull and integrated cardholder.
Produced by Paragon C. & C. Co., this modular storage system was designed for precision shop and office environments, offering dust-resistant housing for parts, fasteners, drafting supplies, or index records. The deep tray-style drawers allowed for organized access, while the flush front ensured the cabinet could be stacked or built into larger banks of storage. The riveted maker’s tag identifies this example by patent and name, grounding it firmly in mid-century American shop and office furniture.
The cabinet shows surface scratches, scattered enamel losses, and oxidation around the pulls and label frames, consistent with age and shop use. Drawers slide smoothly and remain structurally solid.
16" W x 19" D x 5" H
