Description

C-19949

c. mid 20th century; maker unknown Group of four uranium glass pieces including three matching tulip-form stemware glasses with flared bowls and tall stems, along with a small etched shot glass. The stemware displays clear bowls transitioning into vivid green stems and bases, while the shot glass features a simple etched decorative motif. Under ultraviolet light, the glass exhibits the characteristic bright green fluorescence associated with uranium content. The tulip-shaped bowls and slender stems reflect mid-century barware design intended for wine or cocktails. Uranium glass, produced from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century, contains small amounts of uranium oxide which give the glass its distinctive coloration and fluorescent glow. It was widely used in both decorative and functional tableware before declining in production.

Shows light to moderate wear consistent with use, including minor surface scratches and small imperfections. No major chips or cracks observed. Clean overall with strong display appeal, particularly under UV light.
