c. 1950s–1970s; Otigiri – Japan. Glazed porcelain figurine depicting a hummingbird in flight approaching a flowering branch, rendered in soft pastel tones of pale gray, blush pink, and celadon green. The composition features delicate molded petals and leaves with a gently curved tree form, creating a balanced, sculptural silhouette. Designed as a decorative display piece, with fine surface detailing to the wings and body typical of mid-century Japanese export ceramics. Produced during the postwar export period, Otigiri pieces were widely distributed in the United States and are known for their refined, nature-inspired forms.
