Pair of hand-painted resin figurines from Miss Martha’s Collection by Martha Holcombe, including "Mattie – Sweet Child" and "Patsy – Clean Clothes for Dolly." Each piece is modeled with expressive, gentle detail and hand-applied color washes that accentuate their lifelike charm-Mattie seated with a bouquet of flowers, and Patsy tending to her doll’s laundry beside a washtub and stool. Both figures capture the warmth and innocence central to Holcombe’s late 20th-century Americana style. Created in collaboration with Enesco Corporation, Holcombe’s Miss Martha’s Collection became widely collected in the early 1990s for its heartfelt depictions of childhood and community rendered through finely textured casting and soft, earthy finishes.
Light surface wear from age and handling;"Sweet Child" exhibits a missing portion of her bonnet.
