c. 1940s-1950s; Beech-Nut Packing Co. – Canajoharie, NY Mid Century etched-glass counter display for Beech-Nut chewing gum, accompanied by one original Beech-Nut Spearmint gum box. The display features divided glass compartments and a rounded back panel etched with the Beech-Nut logo, designed for use on general store and pharmacy counters. The minimalist glass construction and clean typography capture the midcentury shift toward sleek, sanitary merchandising materials. The Beech-Nut Packing Co., founded in the 1890s in Canajoharie, New York, became a leading American brand for gums, mints, and confections through much of the 20th century, known for its distinctive packaging and national advertising campaigns.
Shows mild surface wear and light edge chipping to the glass display; gum box retains strong color with minor paper wear.
