*2-Day* Fresh Barn Finds & Country Estate Auction (Day 1/2)
Lot 223:
Description
C-18302
Pressed opaline (milk) glass syrup pitcher featuring raised rococo scrollwork and garland motifs highlighted with remnants of gilt decoration. The bulbous base narrows to a delicately flared neck fitted with a hinged pewter lid and handle, typical of late 19th-century table glassware designs produced by firms such as Gillinder or Atterbury. The contrast between the milky body and metallic top embodies the ornate domestic style of the Victorian breakfast or tea service.
Shows minor wear to gilt and light oxidation to pewter lid consistent with age.
