1956; National Dairy Queen Development Co. – Chicago, IL Original mid-century Dairy Queen framed advertising poster reading "The shape of fun to come – DQ Sandwich, " featuring a stylized image of the classic ice cream sandwich against bold orange and blue fields. Shield-shaped price markers at right show 15¢ and 20¢ options, with "Price sticker goes here" printed beneath the blank panel. Lower margin notes © 1956 National Dairy Queen Development Co., with Standard Printing Co., Hannibal, MO credited along the bottom edge. The graphic design reflects the clean, high-contrast commercial art of the 1950s-simple typography, strong color blocking, and product-forward imagery. Produced during the postwar expansion of Dairy Queen franchises across the United States, pieces like this were intended for in-store or window display to promote new or featured frozen treats.
Poster shows surface wear including light creasing and minor scuffing visible under glass. Frame exhibits wear and is missing a small piece along the edge; overall presentation remains strong.
