Figural ceramic group titled “Bored of Education, ” depicting a schoolboy seated at a wooden desk mid-yawn while holding a book, with additional books stacked nearby and carved doodles decorating the desk front. Hand-painted with detailed classroom vignette including baseball and school materials on the desk surface. Molded base signed “Norman Rockwell.” Based on the original Norman Rockwell illustration “Bored of Education, ” a well-known humorous classroom scene reflecting themes of childhood and school-day fatigue. Underside marked accordingly and labeled “Made in Japan, ” consistent with late 20th century export ceramic production.
General surface wear and light soiling throughout. Minor paint loss to edges and high points. Some discoloration to base. Wear to felt pads. No major cracks or breaks observed.
