Figural ceramic group titled “Grandpa’s Little Ballerina, ” depicting an elderly man seated and playing a cello while a young child stands nearby in dress-up attire. Hand-painted with expressive facial detail and warm tonal palette, set on a molded base with integral title plaque. Based on the original Saturday Evening Post cover illustration by Norman Rockwell, published February 3, 1923. Underside marked with production details and model number NR-32, retaining original “Dave Grossman Design Japan” foil label. Manufactured in Japan, consistent with late 20th century export ceramic production.
General surface wear and light soiling throughout. Minor paint loss to high points and edges. Some discoloration to base and underside. Wear to felt pads. No major cracks or breaks observed.
