Lot 159:
Description
C-19054
Matched pair of clear pressed glass candlesticks featuring hexagonal footed bases, tapering conical transitions, and vertically fluted columnar stems. The stepped collar and molded capital detail give the silhouette a restrained classical influence, while the clean transparency and structural geometry reflect early 20th-century American pressed glass production. The hexagonal bases provide strong visual footing, and the faceted edges catch light cleanly, producing crisp highlights along the perimeter. Each example retains a smooth circular candle cup with molded interior ridging and slightly thickened rim. The overall form is utilitarian yet balanced, with a confident stance and proportion consistent with domestic tableware from the 1900-1925 period. The glass remains clear with minor internal bubbles typical of the manufacturing process.
Condition is good antique condition with light surface wear consistent with age. Minor base scratching and small edge nicks visible along high points. No major cracks or structural fractures observed.
