Turned redwood bud vase with classic tapered profile, rounded shoulder, and slightly flared lip. The warm amber-brown tone highlights the tight vertical grain and subtle growth ring figuring characteristic of California redwood. The piece is smoothly finished with a glossy lacquer, giving it a clean mid-century souvenir aesthetic. A remnant foil label on the base reads "California Redwood, " partially worn but still identifiable. Small turned redwood vases such as this were widely produced and sold as California tourist souvenirs during the mid-20th century, celebrating the state’s iconic coastal redwood forests. Compact in scale, the form is ideal for a single stem or as a small decorative accent.
Light surface wear consistent with age and handling, including minor scuffs and finish abrasions. Foil label shows wear and partial loss. Structurally sound with no cracks observed.
