c. 1970s; Stegmaier Brewing Co. – Wilkes-Barre, PA Large fabric advertising banner for Stegmaier Gold Medal Beer, reading "Cold and Gold – From the Poconos" with company branding in bold red and blue lettering. Founded in the 1850s in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Stegmaier Brewing Co. grew into one of the state’s most prominent breweries, earning national recognition for its "Gold Medal" brand. This oversized hanging banner, measuring over 4 feet across, was likely produced for promotional or bar display use. Made of printed fabric with gold fringe and tassels, it reflects midcentury brewery advertising’s move toward eye-catching, portable signage.
Banner shows light staining and scattered wear with small holes in the lower left and upper right quadrants. Retains strong color and presents well despite age.
