General Antiques and Collectibles Spring Auction
Lot 58:
Description
C-15524
This vintage single wooden shoe last features a sleek curved form with drilled vent holes and a painted red back edge. It’s marked "CADILLAC" and "WOMENS HI-4," denoting a style or line and size class for high-heeled women’s footwear. A bent metal heel post and threaded collar complete the form, likely used in retail fitting or light production environments. Shoe lasts like this were essential for shaping shoes in both handcraft and industrial settings, and this example-likely midcentury-was part of a named design series tied to a particular last shape.
Wood is smooth with light use wear, one minor surface split and ink marks near instep. Handle retains original finish with scattered flaking.
Approx. 15" L (including handle)
