Lionel Corporation, founded in 1900, quickly rose to prominence as the premier maker of model trains in America, their products marketed as the "Standard of the World." The No. 292 set, produced in the 1930s, showcases Lionel’s early electric line with lithographed tinplate cars finished in bright orange and green. This example includes matching passenger cars paired with five curved track sections and four straight sections.
Condition shows scattered paint wear, edge chips, and handling marks on cars; track exhibits oxidation from age; boxes show heavy wear with staining and edge losses but remain structurally intact.
