c. 1890s-1910s; Wilcox & White Organ Co. – Meriden, CT Mahogany-cased "Symphonion" roller organ manufactured by the Wilcox & White Organ Company of Meriden, Connecticut. Designed for use with interchangeable pinned wooden rollers, this hand-cranked parlor instrument produces rich, reed-driven tones when operated. The case is accented with stenciled ornamentation and gilt lettering in Gothic type, highlighting the company’s fine craftsmanship and musical heritage. Wilcox & White were among the foremost makers of reed and player organs in late 19th-century America, known for their precision mechanisms and innovative designs.
In working condition but requires effort to operate; hardware near handle is broken. Shows surface wear, finish checking, and minor veneer loss consistent with age. Missing front panel.
