c. 1960s; SSS International – Japan Mid-century plastic friction-drive toy car modeled after an early 1900s touring automobile, boxed as the "Old-Timer De Luxe Tourer" and manufactured in Japan. This stylized antique auto features a molded teal body with a gold-tone radiator and trim, yellow spoked wheels, and a red tufted interior. A flip-up windshield, tan rear trunk, and tail-labeled license plate ("F-1908") complete the vintage silhouette. Packaged in its original illustrated cardboard box, the graphics depict a whimsical joyride scene with period passengers and fiery orange speed lines. The box is marked "Made in Japan" and promotes a "Friction Powered" mechanism and "Noise-Making Crank."
The original box has visible wear and creasing from it’s decades of preserving the vehicle, which is in great shape with some water damage and paint disruption on the hood of the vehicle. Please refer to photos regarding condition.
