c. 1940s; Roseville Pottery Co. – Zanesville, OH Art pottery vase in the "Freesia" pattern by Roseville Pottery, featuring raised yellow and white freesia blossoms with green leaves against a warm rust-orange ground. The form includes twin side handles and a flared rim, with subtle shading that enhances the sculptural floral design. Part of Roseville’s mid-century output, the Freesia line was produced in multiple colorways and remains a favorite among collectors for its bold glazes and naturalistic styling. Roseville Pottery, founded in 1890 in Roseville, Ohio, became one of America’s most important art pottery manufacturers, known for blending artistic decoration with functional forms. The Freesia pattern, introduced in 1945, was one of their later but enduringly popular designs.
Piece shows evidence of an old repair (crack around the rim); surface retains strong color and detail with light wear consistent with age.
