c. 1910s-1920s; Carter’s Ink Company – Boston, Massachusetts This early Carter’s Ink Company advertising jar once held their Photo Library Paste, a specialty adhesive used for mounting photographs and documents. The ribbed clear glass container is topped with a colorful tin lithographed lid reading "Carter’s Double Well Photolibrary Paste" in bold red, green, and black graphics. The lid design reflects the decorative branding Carter’s used in the early 20th century, combining utility with strong shelf presence.
The glass jar is free of chips or cracks, with a starburst pattern pressed into the base. The tin lid retains vibrant color and legible graphics, though surface wear, scratches, and oxidation are present. A fine example of Carter’s advertising and turn-of-the-century office supply packaging.
