c. 1940s-1950s; Wm. Rogers Silver Co. – Hartford, CT Pair of silverplated hollowware vessels including a tall coffee pot and shorter teapot, both with hinged lids, scrolling handles, and rococo-inspired feet. The clean, slightly modernized body forms reflect a shift from elaborate Victorian decoration toward the streamlined elegance of mid-20th-century silverplate. Produced under the Wm. Rogers mark-by then operating within the International Silver Co.-these pieces represent the company’s later output when it was catering to a wide American consumer market. Retaining decorative nods to their 19th-century roots while embracing a more functional silhouette, they were staples of formal dining and entertaining.
Condition shows light tarnish and surface abrasions from age and use. Hinges remain intact, handles secure, and lids seat properly.
