c. 1970s; Country Lane by M.C. Howard Co. – USA Novelty bar of soap molded in the form of a snub-nosed revolver, complete with textured grip and cylinder details. Marketed under the tongue-in-cheek label The Original Saturday Nite Special Soap, the piece was packaged in a bold black box with red and white lettering, accompanied by a vintage-style advertising insert promoting its slogan: Clean Up Grime in Your Lifetime. Produced by M.C. Howard Co. under their Country Lane imprint, this satirical bath product played on the era’s fascination with wordplay and gag gifts. These soaps were never intended for serious use, instead serving as humorous counterculture collectibles.
Soap shows minor age toning and light surface wear, with partial loss of sheen from long-term storage. Box displays scuffing and edge wear but retains strong graphics; insert remains intact with only minor handling creases.
