c. 1960s/1970s; JMRA – Germany Original JMRA wool cutter for rugmaking, complete with its orange-and-white retail box, printed multilingual instruction sheet, and spare blades. The device features a circular plastic body with red crank handle, designed to cut uniform strands of wool for use in Smyrna or latch-hook style rug work. JMRA, a German manufacturer of textile and crafting tools, specialized in practical devices for household use and handicrafts. Tools like this wool cutter catered to the mid-20th-century popularity of latch-hook and rug-making kits, which became a widespread hobby in Europe and abroad.
Very good condition overall with light surface wear; box shows minor edge scuffing and age toning. Mechanism intact and functional.
