c. 1900s-1920s; Hubley Manufacturing Co. – Lancaster, PA Painted cast iron still bank in the form of a saluting sailor in full naval uniform, complete with cap and neckerchief, holding a rifle at his side. These figural banks were produced in the early 20th century both as savings tools and as patriotic toys, often reflecting themes of military service and national pride.
Original paint shows wear with scattered losses, flaking, and surface oxidation, particularly along raised edges. Figure remains structurally sound with no cracks or repairs noted.
