c. 1900s-1920s; H. V. Bright, Maker – Cleveland, OH Solid brass mounting cradle bracket, designed to secure a turnstile or ticket box assembly manufactured by HV Bright. The angled bracket features two oval mounting apertures on the front plate, flanking a reinforced cradle that would have housed the base of the mechanism. Heavy-duty mounting flanges extend from the sides, allowing for permanent installation to a ticketing counter, station wall, or floor fixture. The HV Bright Company was a prominent American maker of fare collection and ticketing systems, supplying brass and steel hardware to railway, subway, and amusement industries in the first half of the 20th century. Their products were engineered for durability and precision, serving as essential infrastructure in high-traffic passenger environments.
This example shows warm patina and light surface wear consistent with decades of use, while retaining its structural integrity and polished character.
