c. 1910s/1920s; The John F. Bauer Company – Elmira, New York

Wooden advertising wall thermometer promoting MO-KO coffee substitute, printed with promotional claims and usage suggestions beneath a small illustrated figure standing atop a winged globe. The printed copy lists five selling points including “Made like coffee, tastes better, ” and instructions suggesting the product be blended with coffee to improve flavor and reduce cost. Lower portion houses the original glass thermometer tube with Fahrenheit scale ranging from sub-zero to 120 degrees. Manufacturer credit at the base reads “The John F. Bauer Company – Bauer Building, Elmira, N.Y.”

Shows surface wear including scattered scratches, finish loss, and minor spotting to the printed surface. Thermometer tube APPEARS to be free from cracks or chips, but is missing any hint of mercury. Back shows natural wood grain with light staining consistent with age.
