Large commercial white-painted metal shortening tin with applied yellow paper label reading “Miller’s Best Special Frying Shortening.” Label text notes “An Extra Refined All Hydrogenated Shortening Made from Pure Vegetable Oil” and identifies Miller’s Prepared Potato Co., Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, National System. Cylindrical form with fitted lid and side bail handles, originally intended for restaurant or institutional kitchen use.
Shows scattered dents to the body panels, particularly along the lower sidewalls, surface scratching, and oxidation along seams and base. Bottom exhibits heavy surface rust. Paper label remains largely intact with some edge wear and discoloration. Lid present; interior condition not evaluated for food use.
