Description

A pair of flow blue sugar bowls in the "Coburg" pattern, produced in mid-19th century Staffordshire. Each vessel carries a deeply blurred cobalt transfer depicting romantic Gothic architecture framed by trees and landscapes. The octagonal foot and rim lend angular contrast to the rounded body and applied side handles.
One piece has a reglued handle and the other exhibits fleabites on the inside of the lid.
