Set of eight flow blue dinner plates in the "Touraine" pattern.
This group of eight dinner plates by Henry Alcock & Co. shows the richly blurred cobalt decoration of the "Touraine" pattern, where floral transfers soften into the white semi-porcelain ground. Each plate features a scalloped edge framed by deep cobalt borders, with remnants of gilt highlighting the molded rim. Produced as part of a full Victorian dinner service, these plates combine durable function with an ornamental presence, embodying the enduring popularity of flow blue wares.
One plate shows a small fleabite, one exhibits stains, and another a small chip on the rim.
